Mara Blouse

Since I first saw the Mara Blouse by Compagnie M I felt in love with it. This is the second one I sew, but not the last because I have the intention to turn it into a dress.
 As the weather was nice today, I have decided to take some pictures to show you the blouse and also to take part in the contest that Marte has arranged, all the information here.

I made the Mara blouse in a lightweight cotton, I have not made any change, I sewed a 8-year-old-size. The pattern is very versatile, it comes with five different sleeves, I chose the flutter sleeve.
I recommend this pattern is femenine and has a touch of vintage.

Amor a primera vista es lo que sentí cuando ví esta blusa de Compagnie M "The Mara Blouse" es femenina y tiene un toque "vintage" que la hace ideal para mi hija. Me gusta tanto que ya he cosido dos, pero tengo pensado transformarla en vestido, es un patrón muy versatil, hay cinco tipos diferentes de mangas, y cada una le da un aire diferente al mismo patrón.

Leopard jacket

My daughter wanted a leopard-faux-fur jacket (Have I written it properly?)and ask me to make one, I have a very particular way to make clothes, first I look for inspiration on Pinterest, then I make the pattern and on the go I make changes, at the end my clothes are very different from what I have though, but I like them because they are unique things. This is the case of this leopard jacket. It started as a coat, then as a jacket, but to my view I think it looks like a bomber. In any case, what matter is that my daughter loves it. The wrist and waistband are made on jersey, and has a kind of quilted linning.

Otra de las cosas que he cosido durante las fiestas ha sido esta chaqueta, la niña quería que, según sus palabras, fuese falsa, que no hiciese falta matar a un leopardo, así que como ya no tenía que ir de cacería pues un pedido a Cal Joan, que se encarguen ellos de cazarlos. Tengo una manera muy caótica de coser, primero busco inspiración, casi siempre en Pinterest, después dibujo el patrón y ahora viene lo bueno, empiezo a hacer modificaciones, pues este bolsillo lo cambio, ahora mejor le voy a poner puños y cinturilla de punto, ahora en vez de botones, cremallera, y al final me pueden pasar dos cosas o que me salga un churro o que me salga una maravilla, en este caso creo que ha quedado bastante bién, eso sí en vez de chaqueta tiene más aire de bomber. Otra cosa que cambié fue el forro, al final me decanté por uno de esos acolchados que abrigan más.

Dorothy Day Tripper

Who doesn`t love the bags from Swoon Sewing Pattern? I do, so I have made not one but two Dorothy Day Tripper, one for my daughter, another one for me. This has been my first pattern from Swoon pattern but not the last one. Now I am thinking of doing another beauty, The Betty Bowler, but I am looking for the perfect fabric that catches my eye.

Hoy os voy a recomendar una web en la que venden patrones de bolsos cada uno más bonito que el otro, Swoon Sewing Patterns, yo he hecho dos, uno para mi hija y otro para mí, se llama Dorothy Day Tripper, tengo en proyecto otro que me gusta todavía más, The Betty Bowler, pero estoy esperando que llegue la tela perfecta, mientras tanto me dedico a otros menesteres.

Sunday Brunch Jacket by Oliver + S

 

When I first saw this jacket (Sunday Brunch Jacket and Skirt) by Oliver + S I fell in love with it. It is so girly that I though that L. would like to wear it. The jacket pairs with a skirt that I want to make when I have time. I am studying English and have little time to spend sewing. I take the advantage and want to apologise for my mistakes with English.

 I bought the fabric last year from Cal Joan. 

As the jacket was not lining I finished the seams with this tutorial from Lupecienta, a great seamstress.

The only thing I does not like about the jacket are the buttons, but when I buy others that match better I will change them.

La primera vez que vi esta chaqueta, pensé en lo bién que le quedaría a L. compré el patrón online y no tuve paciencia para ir a comprar tela, busqué entre las telas que tenía en casa y encontré esta micropana tan floreada y que compré el año pasado en Cal Joan. Los patrones están tan bién hechos que valió la pena los casi 14$ que cuestan. Además de la chaqueta también está el patrón de la falda que tengo en la lista de cosas para hacer, pero es que tengo más proyectos que tiempo y así como comprenderéis no se puede. Otra cosa positiva que encuentro de estos patrones es lo bién explicados que están.

Como la chaqueta no lleva forro, ya tiene bastante cuerpo con el tipo de tela, le acabé las costuras con un acabado Hong Kong, suena sofisticado, ¿verdad? clikando en el enlace veréis un genial tutorial de Lupecienta. Lo único que no me gusta de la chaqueta son los botones, en cuanto compre otros más apropiados los cambio.

Roxy Dress

I wish I had more time to spend sewing, I have a tendency to procratinate when refering to write in my blog. As I am not good at taking photos, I am always postponing it to the next day. But not anymore, I promise. That dress was the first thing I have sewn with jersey fabric, I started with the stretch stitch of my regular sewing machine and then I finished with my new toy, a serger. I am joyful with it, it definitely makes a difference.

Cuanto tiempo sin pasarme por aquí, y no porque no haya cosido, sino porque me cuesta mucho escribir, me da mucha pereza y además no sé hacer buenas fotos. En fin, vamos al grano. Este fue el primer vestido que cosí con punto, creo que es lo que llaman punto roma. Más fácil de coser que otros géneros de punto, pero a mí me costó un poquito el bies para pulir el cuello, bueno lo que más me costó fue que el pespunte quedara bonito.

 

El patrón es sencillito, lo dibujé yo misma, hice un patrón básico de camiseta y lo alargué hasta unos 10 cm. por encima de la rodilla.

 L. está contenta con el vestido, aunque no se lo pone mucho porque ella no es de llevar vestidos en invierno. En fin, culpa mía.

La tela la he comprado en Cal Joan, buen trato y gran variedad.

Stella Skirt

La semana pasada estuve cosiendo una falda para Lovely Laia, se trata de Stella Skirt de Compagnie M. Es una falda asimétrica con forma acampanada. Es muy bonita y tiene mucho movimiento. Las instrucciones aunque en inglés muy fáciles de seguir y Marte tiene diversos tutoriales para que sea más fácil aún coserla.


Last week I sewed The Stella Skirt" by Compagnie M, it is an asymmetrical A-line skirt. The instruccions are easy to follow and several tutorials are provided.

Delante está fruncida y lleva un vivo todo alrededor de la cinturilla.

The front of the skirt has a piping  on the waistband. Before sewing this skirt I was afraid to add piping to clothes but not anymore.


La parte de atrás lleva elástico, ideal para niñas delgaditas como la mía.

In the back it has an elasticated waistband for skinny girls as mine.

Semana Retro. Maratón Telaria

Pues parecía que no llegaba el día y aquí estoy participando en la Semana Retro del Maratón Telaria. Esta es mi contribución, un vestidito de talle bajo, el cuerpo lo he hecho con cuadros escoceses y la faldita con punto roma. Como podeis apreciar las costuras quedan un poco fruncidas, es lo que tenía mi máquina de coser, y digo tenía porque me compré la overlock Singer el otro día en el Lidl. A partir de ahora el punto ya no se me resistirá, o eso es lo que yo creo. Bueno vamos al grano.

Las gafas le van pequeñas pero ella quería llevarlas en las fotos

 

Pues este es el vestido por la parte de atrás, le he puesto cremallera invisible, mi primera intención fue hacer otra cosa, pero una vez cortado cambié de opinión y casé los cuadros lo mejor que pude, es decir, fatal.                                 

Nota para mí, para el próximo vestido, hacer las sisas más grandes, éstas han quedado un pelín justas.
